On February 24, 2026, a configuration change to our YouTube integration added a new permission scope that hadn't been approved by Google yet. Google's security system blocked new YouTube channel connections as a result.
Customer Impact
If you tried to connect or reconnect a YouTube channel during this window, you would have seen an error saying the app was blocked. Existing YouTube connections continued to work fine - only new connections were affected. We received 3 customer reports.
Steps to Resolution
We traced the issue to the configuration change, removed the unapproved scope, and deployed the fix.
Key Learnings
We're now putting new permission scope changes behind feature flags so they can be tested and rolled out gradually, rather than going live immediately.
