Between roughly 16:40 and 18:00 UTC, a large share of video posts sent from Buffer to TikTok failed. At the worst point, about half of TikTok posts did not publish.
This was an issue on TikTok's side. Buffer uploaded each video successfully, but TikTok's own processing then returned an internal error instead of publishing the post. TikTok's API status page did not report an outage at the time. Success rates recovered above 95% by 18:00 UTC and have stayed normal since.
If a TikTok post from that window failed, you can retry it from your queue and it should publish normally.
We're also making changes on our side, so short disruptions like this one are less likely to fail a post outright. We're adding limited retries for temporary TikTok processing errors, and improving how we detect this kind of TikTok-side issue.
